Cars painted a couple of bikes for a movie.
The movie is called "Hog Wild"and being made for Disney. Starring: John Travolta,
Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy filming in and around Santa Fe,
Madrid and Albuquerque, NM May 2006. I will have a bunch of Pics as soon as I can.
Here is the story.
I got a call on Tuesday, April 25th about 6:00pm from a guy at a local bike shop and who asked,
"Can you paint a couple bikes for me?"
"Sure," I replied, "I have about a month's worth of work before
I can start though."
"I need them quick!" he said.
So I asked, "How quick?" thinking maybe a couple of weeks or so.
He replied, "By Friday morning."
"Uh.... no, sorry. I can't do them that quick. Thanks, but no thanks."
"Wait!!! The guy who will be riding these bikes came down today and looked at them.
iiiiiHe doesn't like the colors and wants to change them." he told me.
"I'm really sorry, but I still can't possibly help."
"Well, they are filming this movie here in town and need these bikes quick."
Hmmmmm, I said to myself. I suddenly find my interest sparked!!
"Well," I told him, "maybe."
Then he tells me, "John Travolta came down today and checked out the bikes and doesn't like the colors."
OK guy, you got me!! So we made our arrangements. Where to meet, what time, what colors were needed. The next morning, Wednesday. at 8:00am I picked up the parts and returned them Friday morning at 7:45am. Talk about a quick turn-around!!! In my answers and my work! LOL
Got some Pics Today
Ok, today I made it to one of the sets where they filming downtown in
Albuquerque. I snapped a few pics of the bike all back together.
They were shooting some scenes with stunt doubles that day as they
were riding back and forth up and down Old Route 66. They were doing
some shots in a local bar that they transformed into a Biker Bar.
This is John Travolta's stunt Double and the Stunt Director, I think.
Here is the bike. The Paint Here is the bike I painted. The Paint wasn't anything
too special, I just changed a few colors around and added some airbrushing.
They wanted to keep the bike looking like a stock bike.

Well, I finally got a release date for the movie. In fact, I saw the movie trailer while at the theater recently. Funny seeing my bike up on a 40 ft screen! The first bike they show on the trailer, and
the bike in the lower left hand corner is the bike I painted,
It's easy to find... its the one with John Travolta on it !!!!!!!!!!! LOL
